Cambridge provides a flexible, broad-based curriculum that is offered worldwide at schools and colleges in over 160 countries. For over 170 years, the prestigious University of Cambridge has been setting worldwide curriculum standards through their examinations.
9th and 10th graders at Overton may enroll in IGCSE classes which are college-preparatory courses designed to prepare students for college-level work.
11th and 12th grades have the opportunity to enroll in AICE classes which are challenging college-level courses. AICE students also have the opportunity to earn college credit and college recognition through examination. Regardless of credit earned, these courses are come of the best college-preparatory courses available.
Why Should Students Enroll in Cambridge Courses?
The Cambridge program of study at Overton High School offers students one of the most challenging college preparatory programs in the world. Students may pursue the internationally recognized Cambridge AICE Diploma by earning seven AICE credits across three academic areas and completing the requirements for Global Perspectives. Students have the flexibility to choose a course of study that best meets their abilities and interests. Students also have the option of taking AICE courses and their subsequent exams in order to earn college credit without applying for the AICE diploma. Regardless of the option chosen, enrollment in these challenging courses will benefit JOHS students in the college application process.
